You know how when driving long distances you can find yourself cruising at 85 feeling like you left your soul about a hundred miles back on I-5 somewhere around Kettleman City? That’s me.
Too many trips, calls, projects, people. The good news is that I pulled over to the side of the road and listened. God spoke. He does. You have to listen. I did. Hearing is cultivated. Here’s what I heard;
Pause. “What is going on??!! What does the dashboard of your life tell you?”
Stop. “What do you need to stop doing? Nothing changes if nothing changes.”
Start. “What do you need to start doing? Go back to your plan; work the plan.”
Three words. Pause. Stop. Start. Pregnant with content. You don’t just blow past these words for another 100 miles at 85 – that’s how you end doing some real damage.
- No one will lead my life for me.
- No one will think my thoughts.
- No one will do my deeds.
And so, I am doing the hard work of living my life…remembering that a righteous man falls seven times and rises again – Proverbs 24.16
