Today’s Big Idea:  Love moves us.  We can move others.  Love is a choice that creates movement and over time, momentum.

We love because God first loved us. 1 John 4:19 NIV

Paul writes that “Christ’s love has moved me to such extremes.” 2 Corinthians 5:14 MSG

Jesus’ love doesn’t leave us the same — it moves us.  And, whether you are now trying harder or not, this lesson – that love goes – can get you moving again.

Others are moved when we love.  Love flows like water when we go first, love long, and go slow.

Love goes first.  Initiate building bridges with friends and family.  Take the first step to walk across the street.  Don’t wait for the other person to meet you in the middle.   Open yourself up.  Be vulnerable.  Who needs a call from you?

Go first and make this a season of following Jesus’ Way on a higher level.

Love goes long.   Jesus expects you and me to go long with our friends and family.

Jesus takes a long look at our discipleship; i.e. He knows our devotion to His Way will be a long journey for us and loves us with long patience.  Be resilient.  Endure.  Persevere.  Choose to love long.

Love goes slow.  Rule 25 says “You can’t love well when you are in a hurry.”

Try to be patient when you’re late for work and your spouse asks you to take the kids to school.

Seriously,        the key            to love           is         to go            slow.

Getting your love back isn’t waiting for the feelings to come back – no, love grows as you go.
