You go first

That’s what husbands do – go first, lead the way.

“…be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.” Ephesians 4:32

What forgiveness IS

  • Giving up the perceived right to get even.
  • Agreeing to not hold it over their head.
  • Trying to move ahead constructively with the relationship. Working hard to remind yourself that you have forgiven them regardless of whether or not you feel like it.

What forgiveness isn’t

  • Letting them off the hook. It’s about letting go of “You. Owe. Me.”
  • Instant conferral of trust. Trust is built over time.
  • A feeling. We don’t wait until we feel like it; we forgive because Jesus says it’s the right thing to do.

Jesus has forgiven you countless times. He holds nothing against you. He accepts you as you are.  He took initiative in your relationship not waiting for you to make the first move.

He came extending forgiveness and he expects you to do the same with your wife.

You can do this

Make it a great day.
