Jesus said to them, “Do you believe I can do this?”  They said, “Why, yes, Master!” He touched their eyes and said, “Become what you believe.”  It happened. Matthew 9:28-29 MSG

Perhaps you are ending the year like the two blind men in this story; desperate for a change or a fresh start.  I am.

There are parts of my following of Jesus that I’ve settled for less or just plain given up.  Dreams I’ve compromised, hopes that have died.

My prayer for 2019…

“Help me become what I believe.

I want to become alive to possibility once again; to dream big dreams, pray powerful prayers, and to do what you ask me to do.

I want to live a reckless life of love, of ruthless trust, taking small courageous steps with consistency and excellence.

I want to under under-promise and over deliver in my commitments to myself and others.

I want more intimacy with You and deeper connections with others.

Help me point people to You for solutions to life’s problems.

Help me become the spiritual warrior who fights long and hard to expand Your Presence in the hearts of people.”

In 2019 I will write and post 52 weekly meditations to help us pursue God and become more of what we believe.  I hope you will join me!

PS  Get away by yourself over the next few days and in your journal write a simple prayer for 2019 and pray it daily.
