Loon Lake, Sierra’s.  70 degrees – wind out of the west 15-20 mph.  Blue sky.  Diamond water.  Shimmering lake surface.  Wind singing through pine, cedar, juniper, manzanita, dry lupin, baked needles.  Yes, the wind sings thru stone aeolian harp across the surface of this crystal basin on the edge of the desolation wilderness in the sierra’s created by God for his good pleasure and mine!

I am walking again, a pedestrian unaided by machinery, off-line by technology yet on-line with my senses.  I hear nothing but natural sounds.  Wind.  Hawk scree.  Buzz of bee.  Cheerful chirp of chipmonk.

It is hard to believe but true, this natural beauty, the Sierra’s is a thumbnail of what it once was, it is an ikon, an avatar, quite simply a fraction of the grandeur it once was.

Slow inevitable decomposition was brought on by the break.  As in “The Break”, the lost connection with the Server.  The gargantuan cable 20″ thick laying at the bottom of the ocean linking New York with London, Berlin, Moscow, Osaka, LA – linking man with God – me with God.  The renewing life force of God with trees, rivers and everything created – it all began that slow death way back then.

And yet this sierra view beside this alpine lake is more beautiful than any digitally composed image, than any tag on a subway wall.  This was designed and created by God for God and his children to enjoy.

One day the decomposition will be complete. The oceans, the great kidney of the earth, will no longer be able to leach out the impurities, the lung with one final gasp, like Jesus on the cross, will gasp “It is finished!” and what is here now will no longer be.   In a snap it will be replaced by a New Jerusalem.
